Indeed ...
Most Flash devices support SECTOR erase. I agree on that, but it is not possible to erase a sector when running from that same flash. This is due to the fact that you'll need to supply a UNLOCK sequence on the Addresslines / datalines. It is impossible to sequence this from code within this flash. This makes sure that the device cannot be erased by ACCIDENT (unwanted code). Bert Regards. PS.: Check the unlock sequence. |
