#18485 - RE: CONTACLESS (RF ID) CARDS....
Hi all,

I couldn`t keep myself writing a terrible experience of mine with RF link to a 80C51 system. I had used a very sensetive Superregenative
type receiver. With receiver alone(without antenna), with a 10mW transmitter, I could provided approx. 200m range in a rather high quality
data transfer specs. But when I entegrated it to the 8051 based system, the attained range turned out to be only a few meters.. my so called sensetive receiver had become a deaf due to the rf emmision of the microcontroller and its peripherals. All efforts to avoid the receiver from rf emmision of the system which dramatically decreases the S/N ratio had made no any good.(filtering the power, putting the receiver into a grounded cage, passthrough caps. , decreasing the 8051`s frequency to minimum, etc.)
The only workaround solution I had ever found was to keep the receiver
2-3 meter away from the system which I had to apply but never liked this solution.

So, I sometimes see or hear that friends do RF couplings to microcontroller based system, I still wonder how they do...

Best regards.
Rustu Kaya
