We had a situation today, measuring an incredibly accurate part we have made (mechanical part) using an electronic gauge with an analogue meter on it. We realised that a digital readout would have fooled us completely about the exact shape of the part we had made. So I agree entirely. Sometimes, nothing beats an analogue indicator.
