#22445 - Code size of a typical 8051 application |
Sorry for the stupid question but I work for an IC company which design 8051 clones. Recently my boss wants to drop the banking support and that means the code size cannot be over 64K. He wants me to find out if this will satisfy most customers. Coming from a PC background, I never had to worry about the code size. I understnad there are many 8051 veterans and experts in this forum, so I would appreciate it if you could provide me some experience as to for most 8051 applications, will 64K code memory be sufficient. Keep in mind I had to support a TCP/IP stack with size ~12K. Thanks. |
