You are right. A transistor can also be used to drive LED, but it makes more sense to use a driver chip when there are 8 LEDs. Imagine the size and wiring of a DIP IC as compared to 8 transistors and 8 base resistors. And ULN2003 is nothing except transistors + their corresponding base resistors. IA |
