I agree with Donald. If you don't get any output in Hyperterminal you don't know if your 8052 app is failing or if Hyperterminal is failing, misconfigured, or just in a bad mood.

You know what I use? TERMINAL.EXE from Windows 3.1! When I first installed Win95 years ago I realized Hyperterminal was a piece of junk. So I made a backup of TERMINAL.EXE before formatting my last 3.1 machine and it is one of the first programs I copy onto every new machine I use. Works like a charm.
