while the 82C chips use less current than the 82, the use of them is still trying to wrestle a x86 system chip into a '51 system. When I advise against using these antiques these chips it is based on the chip design (grrrrrrreat for x86) being a poor match for the '51. So using 82C does not get you to the fancy new goods store.
