#31224 - RE: Isolating faulty RS-485 device
In some of my recent RS-485 designs I have used the ADuC812 chips a/d inputs to measure the outputs of the RS-485 chip. If they are not within acceptable parameters, the RS-485 chip is isolated by turning off a double throw double pole relay. The voltages are measured again, if they are still not within acceptable parameters, then this unit is considered defective and stays offline.
