Yes Tom, the original software source code was in assembler language and it was available on 5.25 inch diskette. However the in circuit emulator and the original software development tools (assembler and linker) were not available for use. Not sure where they were so I had to come up with the thing you see on my page. Obviously one could buy a whole new setup but the cost would have exceeded the amount of money that the client was willing to pay for the software changes. Thus the Cygnal development approach.
