#33772 - RE: switch debouncing - Jon |
I find it extremely frustrating...
Yep. Me too. Debouncing a switch in software is easy to do, but when you start economizing EVERYWHERE, you end up with switches with 100ms bounce times, software debounce, and so on. On what I consider to be high-end professional equipment (like pro-audio and camera equipment) I want good quality switches and fast response time. That can either come from hardware debouncing or software debounce (if the switch doesn't bounce for a tenth of a second). For the camera, it's probably more of a effect of the time to lock focus. That's why all my friends are thrilled with their $200.00 digital camera but I have to spend $1000.00 on one to be happy. <d>Jon</d> |
