Fair comment. But the fact that there is a hardware stack MAY be an advantage in some circumstances - if you know that you are coding something fairly simple, with little or no local vars, in asm, simply because it's one less thing to worry about. The combination of hw stack and single cycle execution makes (the most basic of) PIC's very neat solutions for some apps. Horses for courses. |
