#35684 - RE: Cygnal EC2 -Rob |
I have 3 separate EC2's now and have had no problems with them. It is true that an EC2 has a Cygnal Part on board. As such it is necessary that the EC2 needs to be treated with the same caution as is used for other CMOS devices. The JTag port out from the EC2 is interfaced directly to port pins of the onboard Cygnal part.
I would actually suggest to Cygnal that in the future that they consider adding an IC buffer in between the onboard processor and the JTag output pins. The most rugged type buffer device would be a bipolar type IC but I suggest that a 'HC240/HC244 type device would work well. These type devices have quite good pin protections as compared to what one would typically find onboard a more complex mixed signal device like a micropeocessor. Michael Karas |
