#35734 - RE: JTAG |

------------------------------- "If you do not pull up the JTAG inputs with 10k or less, you will get partial program erasures due to noise." I did have an experience like that with a Lattice CPLD. Combined with the overshoot from an unterminated clock line it was bad enough to kill the chip. It drove me spare trying to find the cause (ever tried to replace a 100 pin TQFP?). The Cygnal chips have internal pull-ups on their JTAG pins and I've never had a problem with them. Moreover, the actual JTAG connection between the Emulation Cartridge and the target is very short (about 15 cm), so noise pickup will be less of a problem. Rob. |
