#3580 - 8xC51Rx2 Availability |
YES, WE HAVE NO BANANAS
======================= I need to purchase 1K to 2K 8xC51Rx2 micros (Temic or Philips) but USA distributors are quoting, "No stock, 30+ weeks lead time". Is this chip more available in Europe? I'll open an office in Europe if that's what it takes. :-) Maybe its time to check Motorola leadtimes. It should take only 6 weeks to design and layout a replacement microcontroller card. NO TEMICS... NO COMMISSIONS =========================== At least I have a carrot to dangle in front of the mule that is my components distributor. I have a $70K order that they're checking on... I think I'll tell them that I'm going to scale the order volume down, based upon how many Temics they can supply me with. :-) With my salesrep's commission on that amount... maybe some micros will mysteriously show up? LOW POWER MICROPROCESSORS ========================= While checking on the MPS430C by Texas Instruments for another forum topic, I found the TMS370 I used at Tandy 10 years ago. I used it in a cordless telephone handset due to its low-power performance (Tandy has a Patent in my name on that project). I'll have to see if I can replace my 8051 radio link card with it??? -Jay C. Box |
