Hi,
I'm trying to control a robot arm via the 8051 RS232 serial port. It needs a 3byte string @ 8N1 9600 baud. I have succeeded in controlling it from the PC using a VB program I wrote, but am in trouble with the 8051. Both the 8051 and arm are female connectors, hence I'm using a gender changer on one side of the cable. Will this cause the pins to be changed around(their connections to the arm) and is it possible to accomplish this communication at all?
