If you are truly looking for speed and need performance....that you can buy today....you should look at the Cygnal parts. They have had 50MHz parts for a while now and have announced 100MHz parts too.

Some of the highest speed parts have on-board PLLs to support multiplying the oscillator up to the 50 or 100 MHz so you do not have to put those frequencies right on your PC board.

I am using an 'F126 in a project right now at 22.1184 MHz. With 1X CPU cycling it is a very high performance compared to other processors that divide the oscillator by 2, 3, 4 or 6 to get the CPU clocking.
