Hello Paul, I think you have company. You want to come up with a sort of "universal MCU board " that has all the bells and whistles so that you can just add modules as and when needed. Great if it works out like that. I myself have been trying for a universal board like this for the various standalone hydraulic test rigs that we do. Though I have been successful to an extent in this "universal" aspect, I still have about 5 basic variants - the one with memory mapped I/o; the one with direct port I/O; the one that drives a multiplexed LED array; the one that drives a 7218 display + LCD driver ... and the list is growing. In any case planning to provide for extended code and data banking in the start itself is going to pose lots of problem to contend with. Raghu |
