Now please bear with me for a moment. Iam looking forward to learn serial communication and for this lets say that i do the following:-

i have gone through the tutorial it looks easy. Let say that i want to reset the clock which i made by using serial communication from my Computer Window98...then what should i do...

should i write a program in assembly in DOS editor and save it as a asm file or what should i do...

So let say that i wangt to reset the clock.
i will open my computer , click on asm file , it will ask me Minutes = and then Hours = , i place the values and then connect the cable to my clock and then resets the clock.

Now some one replied that i need RS232 , is there any economical solutions as iam a hobby student.

Also now i have to write two program one that will work on the computer and also have to make changes in the clock program which is in my controller,

So please guide me about this.
iam only doing this for learning serial so please don't tell me to use reset push buttons.
