Kari
You asked "Btw, does anybody here want to change thoughts about car/motorcycle/bicycle-computing?" In early 1980's I manufactured a motorcycle enduro computer using the 8048 MC "battery hog". The MC cost $100.00 a pop and therefore was not marketable. It measured wheel speed, computed ave mph, and told the rider how many seconds early or late he was from schedule. It had many functions that would allow the rider to do resets, gas stops, and could put him back on time (providing he knew how to ride a motorcycle). This old clunk chip preformed well using the timers/counters even with software TOD clock. It's hard for me to imagine what kind of timing you are looking for that the hardware you have would not perform in the area of car, motorcycle, or bicycle computing/timing. Joe |
