#42033 - Move forward
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Dear Harnam,

Sorry if I have diverted you from the BASIC route.

While this will be a temporary setback the benefits are large : Somehow the BASIC interpreter has faded from the market and it is better not to stick to obsolete firmware. As Erik had pointed out the 89c51RD2 from Philips is a good choice and easily available in the Indian market. Would suggest as a first step to download the datasheet from Philips site for this IC and try going through it in detail.

But before that, have you read the Bible in the Links? Dont under estimate or feel its a trouble. The more you read this Bible the better you are and most of your questions will be answred there.

The metalink assembler is a simple and good assembler. But be forewarned : It needs a good DOS environment and that vanished with WIN-98. If you are using WIN-XP or later then a DOS assembler will be quite a difficult proposition... OK tell us when you come to the assembler stage - there are many Windows based ones.

Raghu
