#43001 - Using serial port-less laptops |
Some of the newer laptops have no
serial port. I guess they think that it is "old fashioned". However, there are plenty of USB to serial port adapters, for as low as 20 dollars. Does anyone have any experience with using a laptop with a USB->serial port adapter. Is it a usable solution with the various programming devices and development cards? (I suppose I could run into difficulties with old legacy software that needs a physical, not virtual, serial port.) I suppose we will see more and more of this in the future. William |
