#43009 - RE: Using serial port-less laptops Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I wouldnt know why the laptop guys did what they did and removed the serial port from the machine. It is a pain.
But to answer your query straight - YES the USB - Serial convertors work without problem and I have had no issues in running my serial port programmer / mouse / modem . OK I cannot say if the scene is the same with pure DOS programs that your current WIN platforms support reluctantly in a shell. The message is clear " If you guys stick with your legacy DOS programs, how does my coffer fill ? ". Perfect buisness sense. Unfortunate, you happen to be in the wrong end of it ! Raghu |
