Now here is a challange if anyone needed. I am looking for ANY kind of info on how to directly control the floppy drive and what is needed to use it.

I am NOT looking for IBM compatablity (Not that it wouldn't be helpful) I just want a way to use a floppy drive in my micro-controler projects, just because I have about a stack of 30 of them absorbing dust on my counter top.

Now, I know kind of how you move the floppy drive around, moving the head back and forth, turning on the moter. However, I am not to sure how to read and write data to it. All the experments I did failed and it dosn't help matters without any kind of scmatics, or even a simple help file.

Now I DON'T want to use a controler. I want to plug the minumal amount of pins right up to the IO bus of an 8052 compatable controler. Also I know that the bit rate of a floppy is 1mbps, is it posable to use a lesser speed?
