#44042 - RE: rd2 programmers? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
"Why do you want to parrallel program an ISP chip?"
This project has no serial I/O and no free port pins. "If you are going to parrallel program, why not use the X2" I'm not the hardware engineer on this project, so I don't know why they chose this one. Perhaps they have a large inventory of chips they want to use up. I'll have to read up on the X2 chip, I'm not familiar with it. Thanks for the tip. "When I worked with Needhams, they got new chips handled by request in less than a week, have you asked?" Yes I have. They refused to provide any further updates for the EMP20, and they have ignored the erratic operation of the EMP30 even though I have spoken to them on the phone and mailed them samples of the failing chips. I decided to take a chance and order one of those Xeltek programmers. Once I've had a chance to try it out, I'll let you all know if it's any good. Joe |
