#44052 - RE: rd2 programmers? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
"I haven't see the non-H yet, but rumor has that it programs the same as the -H."
I tried using the non-H version on the EMP20, and it does not work. The software still shows only 5 flash blocks instead of the proper 16, and there is no facility for programming the 6/12 clock bit. The software for the EMP30 does show the correct layout of the flash, and does have dialog boxes for setting the clock mode bits and other stuff, but programming the chip results in constant data verification errors and non-working chips. (And this EMP30 does work OK with everything else that we use it for.) Philips app note AN461 makes it quite clear that ISP/IAP programming of the different chip versions is not the same; note the seperate commands for erasing blocks on each type of chip. It also appears that parallel programming is different as well, otherwise there would be no need for explicit support of both versions in the programmer software. "Two of my collegues have Xelteks and when I have programmed there (if my BP did not 'know' the chip) I have not had any problems." Well, that's encouraging... Hopefully the Xeltek will solve all my problems. Thanks, Joe |
