#44782 - Quick Pulse EPROM Programming (8051) |
I have an AMD 8751H microcontroller that I wish to program. I have the microcontroller in a 40 pin package. I was looking at the intel documentation for the MCS-51 family and saw that the device must be programmed using the "Quick-Pulse" programming method. While I have found various flow charts etc, I cannot find any low level information about pin connections (data, address lines?), or even a datasheet for the specific microcontroller I have. Since I don't want to buy an expensive programmer, I was going to write my own Quick Pulse programmer using VHDL and an FPGA. Can anyone help me out with this?
Also, what is the circular glass on top of the microcontroller for? Is that for erasing the memory with UV light? As a note, I bought the 8751H off E-bay, so I do not know what is currently in the flash. The chip reads: D8751H 8738FP (m)(C)Intel 1980 Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks! -Tom Lutz |
