#46391 - RE: 8051 peripherals choice
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Michael,

I've listed the HC908 chips and none of them includes EEPROM and 10 bits ADC. HCS12 does ! But I would like to choose a familly including a small, medium and huge chip to cover most of our applications.
It seems that we will use massively small and average chips in production (billions parts !). Big ones will be used for developement only.

I know that there's a way to use FLASH to emulate EEPROM, but I don't know what code size and time it takes. I've only some configuration and calibration parameters to set and it will probably less than few bytes.

After spending 2 days looking for a microcontroller fitting my requirements, I've to agree that there is no much chips supporting -40..+125°C with EEPROM and 10 bits ADC. Only PICs can achieve this (16F87x).

Atmel has a fine range but none of their chips operates in the extended temperature.

Philips is also very poor. Only 4 chips !

Mmmm.... interresting brain storming there..

Regards
Stephane
