#47127 - RE: Oscilloscope again Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hello Mr. Kai Klaas,
That is a very nice unit. The plastic BNC connectors will ultimate lead to problems. Leaving the connectors hooked up all the time will lead to corrosion which will degrade the signal quality. Removing the probes each time you use the unit will act as a way of cleaning the contacts. The trigging problem you mentioned can be solved by using an external triggering method. I use a 74LS221 single shot IC. It will trigger on high speed signals and can be set up to increase the pulse width to suit your oscilloscope needs (I use a 100 MHz dual trace scope). Overall the unit you choose is a very good one. Regards, Charles Bannister ---------------------------------------------------------- PCS500 is a digital storage oscilloscope that uses a computer and its monitor to display waveforms. All standard oscilloscope functions are available through the supplied Windows program. Its operation is identical to that of normal oscilloscope apart from the fact that all operations can be performed with the mouse. Connection is through the computer's parallel port and the scope is completely optically isolated from the computer port. The oscilloscope and transient recorder have two completely separated channels with a sampling frequency up to 1GHz. Any waveform displayed on the screen can be stored for later use in documents or for the comparison of waveforms.
