That wasn't the point of the question. The point of the question was to clarify the meaning of the term and, thus, whether it truly applies to the 8051 or not. Now correct & accurate terminology is important - otherwise nobody will know what you really mean! eg, lots of 'C' programmers fail to distinguish between variable declarations & definitions - and you can find several threads on this very forum where that has caused them problems! PS Anyway, it is important to getting the job done, as it explains why you need distinct MOVX and MOVC instructions! |
