I guess I've been a lone wolf too long. I try to concentrate on the best, most workable solution to a given problem. For the most part, emotion and ego has no place in engineering. I've seen too many people, highly experienced engineers included, make decisions or choices based entirely on emotion and/or ego. Once had a chief engineer who insisted that all logic functions be made synchronous to a master clock via flops, even when it didn't make sense. Oh well, he was the boss. Project died, by the way.

Point is that engineering doesn't allow that sort of thing if you want to succeed and make a profit. Takes up too much time.
