When the lock bits in the 89Cx051 are activate AND you try to perform a read function with your programmer, you will only be able to get all one's. This will fool your programer into thinking the device is blank because that is also what you will get when the device is truly blank.

Good. Then all I have to find out, is why the chip also tries to fool the application circuit into thinking it's blank...
