How do you figure 10 pins?

My pin count comes from accesses using MOVX A,@DPTR - the easiest and fastest way to access external memory. Am I missing something?

P.S. To John, maybe you can speed up the download process other ways. Have you looked at your download algorithm and made sure it was tweaked? You might also want to see if your micro has any performance features that need to be manually enabled, or maybe your micro isn't being clocked at its max speed. Just some suggestions.
