#5327 - RE: Current to Volts and A/D
I know that this is an 8052 forum, but other microcontrollers do exist.

I am new to 8052, but I have used Microchip extensively.

They have a diverse product line, including 8, 10, and 12 bit internal ADC. You can put these products to sleep while converting to eliminate digital switching noise in the ADC result. Other features such as I²C, SPI, UART(S), PWM(S), TIMER(S), INT(S), Pushbutton port, RTC oscillator, etc. are also available. New features such as CAN and USB are becoming available.

Bigger varieties, 5 < MIPS < 10
Smaller varieties, 1 < MIPS < 2.5

They may or may not offer a combination of features to fit your needs. If you need external memery access look at the 17C756. If not I would use 16F877 or 18C452.

These are RISC, so expect to do some coding. The major drawbacks of these parts is the single source, and possibly higher cost than 8052. I don't think single source should be a problem, as Microchip has be doing quite well.

I expect some responses from the Atmel AVR people, as they are rivals with Microchip. Ha, Ha!
