It strikes me that we are seeing far more threads with requests for help with X and Y etc, but which, despite our questions and requests for more information never go answered.

Is there mileage in my closing threads after, say, three days, if there is no activity from the original poster ? Then, if I don't get any request to re-open, I'll delete it ?

Not an automatic policy, because people post fascinating replies sometimes, but I think we need to do something.
