If you think that internal RAM of 89C51 would suffice to hold the data you need, - feed the 89c51 over a diod. - let a 2500 MF cap. charged from pin 40 of 89c51 over a 1K res. - detect the power_down. - immediately set the controller to Power_Down mode. If you use C, modify the startup file not to clear the RAM area where you resided your data after restart. My experiments prove that 2-3 days data retention provided with this way. Rustu |
