Well I agree with you Michael that you generally get what you pay for. But I also believe that this isn't 100% true in the world of computers and electronics. See, for example, Linux and generally GNU/GPL software. So the question, concerning free 8051 C compilers, remains: SDCC or Reads51 and how would you compare them to commercial products such as Keil,etc.? I suspect that SDCC is developed more than Reads51, but that's only my feeling...
