#5988 - RE: APP Builder ? |
Allen,
I searched thru intel.com, and never located the exact place where I can download apBuilder, even lots of related info were found. Is it still available for free? Or it is bundled with other x51 development kits? Peter, When starting a new project or new x51, we usually copy the codes from previous projects. Then change a few SFR bits during program initialization and execution. As long as everything is well modulized/organized, we will be just fine. Commercial compilers already include most of the x51 variants in individual .H files (in C speaking) where SFRs memory address are defined. App builder tries the same ways what we would do above, however in graphical and mouse-clicking advantage. Graphical SFR memory map is only the first step. Other goodies might include functions calling tree, stack overflow check, and etc. Anyway, it helps more with the process, and less on the product. And it is more useful when switching around different x51 frequently. I haven't used one yet only because I haven't found the right one yet. Probably never because this market is too small to make big profit for those compiler companies. Regards, Oliver |
