Well, you dont need a ISR for polled I/O! If at all you are using poll, simply monitor the RI flag and its a usual chore.
But if you are in a ISR, you shouldnt wait for the next byte. Yes, reception is resumed after you clear RI, and you can even monitor RI while waiting for the next byte. But you are in a ISR, you cannot waste so much time. girish |
