#62809 - Transistor inverter instead of 7404 |
Hi everyone,
My project involves using a 8051 derivative running at 8MHz (or more) powered at 3.3Volts. In my design i need to use an inverter as part of the address decoder (actually the inverter IS the address decoder, connected on A15). For the prototype board i am using only one inverter gate from a 74HC04 (at 3.3V again). Due to cost and board footprint i would prefer using an alternative solution. Does anyone have experience in connecting a transistor as an inverter for such system specifications (voltage, frequency) ? Can you recommend the transistor type and if experience helps the external resistor values to use (although this i calculate it my self) ? Thanks, Panos |
