The most favoured xx1232 type cannot be used as the standard 500ms delay will enable a vehicle at 70mph to travel 20(ish) yards extra,if the uC resets when the brakes are applied. At this point the uC becomes truly embedded. There are examples in the UK of companies being prosecuted for manufacturing devices that fail due to poor watchdog arrangements (under EMC regulations). |
