#63186 - good reliability vs cost ratio Responding to: ???'s previous message |
An important point:
All components must have the same reliability, e.g. software, hardware, case, connectors, power supply and so on. Its a chain, which was only so reliable as the least link. E.g. my Sony notebook has a good design and high price. But the connectors are so miserable as I have never seen before. They looks that they already selfdisassembled only by a stronger view on it. The result: I had always many trouble with it. And only after a half year I removed the power and the modem connector and soldered the cables direct on the pcb (Sony spare parts are absolutely unable to get at fair price). Now it looks no longer good, but it works fairish reliable. And thus I'm today very negative impressed about the reliability of Sony products. So the reliabilty-reputation-relation was also an important point to watch on your product. Peter |
