As far as I know, connecting an LCD to a 8051 or a 8255 should basically be the same.
Beware 1: I don't know how the ports on a 8255 have been implemented, so you'll have to verify whether you need pullup's or whatsoever.. Beware 2: you may notice that some people don't quite like 8255-chips... Personnaly I wouldn't use them. There's probably better and less obsolete solutions... My EUR .02 regards Patrick |
