Just a delay works great in all my applications and till date no customer has complained about a blank display.

Okay, before someone gets on his high horse :

1. This ( delay stuff )does not purport to be a right way of design, if one wants to follow the data sheet meticulosly.

2. Just because it works for Raghu, does not mean it will work for everyone. And even for Raghu, there is no gurantee it will work for all models in the future.

And I finally agree with you on the data sheet from Hitachi for thier LCD drivers - it makes much more sense after the Nth time you read it where N is directly proportional to your perseverence factor.
