Devices like the AD7730 can provide outputs for AC excitation of the bridge to cope with the effects you describe. The excitation is not a sinewave in this instance but a squarewave synchronised to the internal chopper. I can't say I've seen this technique used in normal strain gauge instrumentation but maybe its used for weigh scales where the electronics are not too far removed from the gauge itself. |
