Why? if you refer your measurement to the generator output instead of a fixed reference, does this not become irrelevant?

Kai, I never mentioned square Waves, my statement above Effects which are neglible if the frequency is not very high clearly indicated that harmonics were out of the question (the effects would not be neglible)
