Thanks for your examples and the set of rules. I have the TX part working. Very nice solution with those offsets and the AND (buffersize - 1). It translated almost straight into Bascom Basic.(yes : I'm going to learn C soon.... but I have some projects to finish :-)

Now for the RX part. I'm going to figure out that part according to the TX example and the set of rules.
If I can't get it to work I'll let it know

I know there are some very nice code examples around in C.
But I can't read them very well (yet). That's why I initially asked for flowcharts. Do you happen to have one on this issue?

I think I can make some nice code now but I'm not that experienced to know all the pittfalls before I start. If there any..... and I presume there are.....
