#65808 - RE: Cable capacitance is not an issue! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
This means, that you can not connect an arbitrary number of monitors to one cable driver! Each monitor has 1 corresponding KS0119Q2 chip on the other end of cable. To the ESD protection:
It's very easy to protect the video lines by the help of suited Schottky diodes! The BAT54 is very often used. In the following link you will find a typical application: http://www.chrontel.com/pdf/an51.pdf Very nice link, thank you kai, shouldn't there be some sort of fuse in case the BAT54 got fried? By the way, you told, that you don't have protection earth in your building. What are you connecting protection earth of computer and monitors to, then? We do have earth connection to the building but I think it is a bad one. Conluding: I think your vga driver is damaged, because driver outputs are overrated by having connected too many monitors. Thats not true because each output has only 1 monitor. if I added the BAT protectors, would this solve the problem or should i think about video signal isolation? regards mahmood |
