You seem to have thought this one through pretty well. Maybe in an area or two you have gone a bit overboard, but that is a whole lot better than erring the other way.

One ting: you are controlling a spot welding machine, that will give you EMF spikes you only can imagine. Make sure all controls are well protected from this EMF.
