#66982 - RE: CodeWright, hurry Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I use Kate. I was just looking for a quick replacement to "NOTEPAD" when I switched to Linux a little over a year ago and found the Kate editor. It took me about 5 minutes to realize that it was far more than NOTEPAD. I think it does everything Erik mentioned except the column edit thing which I've never even thought about wanting let alone used.
To be honest, as long as I have some syntax formatting/coloring, one keystroke to intent/unindent, and can copy/paste and search/replace, I'm good to go. Kate has a bunch of features I haven't even used yet, but they're there if I need them. Kate is open-source and free and comes with most distributions of Linux. I'm not sure if there is a Windows version. Regards, Craig Steiner |
