The slowest crystal for most typical 80C51 is about 1MHz.
For lower frequencies an external oszillator circuit must be used. On some new 8051 derivates you can also burn fuse bits to increase the impedance of the internal oszillator to be able to operate on frequencies below 1MHz. Peter |
